Have you tried observing your emotions first instead of giving up on them completely?

Today I decided to spend time doing only what I truly like but I felt emotional flashbacks from things that have happened 5-7-10-15 years ago, so instead I dived deeper into my work. And so I wanted to share with you the insights of this experience. How we become numb when the emotions are too intense to handle and we don't know how to deal with them while still juggling everyday life and personal tasks.

Many of us are guilty of ignoring our emotions and bottling them up inside. We try to distract ourselves with work, social media, or other activities, hoping that the feelings will go away on their own. This can often lead to a state of emotional numbness, where we are no longer in touch with our true feelings and struggle to connect with others.

The key to overcoming this is to learn how to observe your emotions without judgment. Instead of giving up on them, take the time to understand what you're feeling and why. This can be difficult at first, especially if you're used to pushing your emotions aside. The good news is that with practice, you can become more in tune with your emotions and learn how to manage them effectively.

One effective way to observe your emotions is to practice mindfulness meditation.

This involves sitting in a quiet place, focusing on your breath, and bringing your attention to the present moment. As thoughts and emotions arise, simply observe them without judgment and let them pass by. Over time, you'll become more comfortable with your emotions and learn how to manage them in a healthy way.

Another helpful technique is journaling.

Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you gain clarity and insight into your emotions. You can also use this as an opportunity to explore your emotions in more depth and identify any patterns or triggers that may be contributing to your emotional state.

Ultimately, the key to learning to observe your emotions is to practice self-compassion. Remember that it's okay to feel a wide range of emotions, and it's natural to struggle with them from time to time. Instead of beating yourself up for feeling a certain way, try to be kind and understanding towards yourself. This will help you build resilience and develop a healthier relationship with your emotions over time.

In conclusion, learning to observe your emotions instead of giving up on them is an important step towards greater emotional well-being.

By practicing mindfulness, journaling, and self-compassion, you can become more in tune with your emotions and learn how to manage them in a healthy way.

So next time you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, take a step back and try to observe them without judgment. With time and practice, you can build a stronger connection with yourself and others, and live a more fulfilling life.
